PCASA supports South African plastics convertors as an employers organisation with industry advocacy, labour guidance, and services that protect and grow their businesses.
The Plastics Convertors Association of South Africa (PCASA)’s sole purpose is to serve members and develop, in conjunction with socially and environmentally responsible plastics converting industry. The PCA is a trade organisation duly registered as an Employers Organisation. As representative for the Plastics Convertors within the Metal and Engineering Bargaining Council we strive to serve the interests of all members on statutory bodies.
The Plastics Convertors Association of South Africa (PCASA) is an Association for Plastics Convertors, and was launched in 1998 to represent the interests of the well established plastics convertors and manufacturing industry in South Africa. The scope of activities includes but is not limited to matters such as Collective Bargaining, Dispute Resolution, and Liaison with DTI, ITAC, SABS, DoL, NRCS, Technical information, Environment, ethics and others.

Collective Bargaining & Dispute Resolution
PCASA represents its members in collective negotiations, particularly via its seats on the MEIBC MANCO, and functions as the exclusive negotiating forum (Plastics Negotiating Forum) for the plastics sector
Legal Representation & Labour Relations
This includes chairing disciplinary and incapacity enquiries, handling ill health and poor performance cases, attending conciliation and arbitration proceedings, and filing in limine proceedings, objections, rescissions, and more.
Training & Compliance Guidance
PCASA offers tailored training services—such as PIMCA training, workplace discipline management, and initiator and cross-examination techniques—helping members interpret and apply the Plastic Industry Main Collective Agreement effectively.
Regulatory Liaison & Technical Support
The association liaises with government and regulatory bodies—including the DTI, ITAC, SABS, DoL, NRCS—and provides technical assistance on compliance issues related to environment, ethics, and standards
